Elevated Design
Elevated Design are currently based in Glasgow city centre. Our offices are situated in the Strathclyde University Incubator building (SUI ltd). Our company was started by a group who were first brought together by their engineering degrees at University of Strathclyde. Our degrees in Product Design Engineering in the department of Design Manufacture and Engineering Management provided us with a range of knowledge in engineering, production, management and business.
In 2004, the group were set a project as part of their course encouraging engineering students to work in partnership with businesses in industry in order to gain more practical experience and allow the students to increase their skill set. The solution produced for this project resulted in the design of Elevated Design’s primary product which can be seen on the design page of this site.
Although some members of the group moved on to other industries and professions, the praise that this academic project received prompted the remaining members of the group to take this design to the next stage by formally patenting the design. From there, it was felt that the best approach would be to create a company which would then allow the group to create the formal structure to enter this idea into the commercial market.
Since the registration of the business, through industry acquaintances and networks, Elevated Designs have been in discussions with many parts of the public transport industry and have begun to broaden their input in to further aspects of the Mobility/Disability Access.
